Terra Multorum – Land of the Many was developed during Performing Landscapes residency 2023 and performed along with five others performance artists and visual artists who also worked and performed in the landscape under the common theme “Kalkland.”

Each artist worked on a specific site. I chose the open landscape in the chalk pit with view to the sun setting during my performance.

I made the three circles, the outer circle with a diameter of 20 meters, by hammering into the ground with a rake to loosen up the chalky ground.

I carried 87 limestones. I wrote on the stones.

I honored 87 species. Common, rare, threatened and extinct species to an audience of 50 people each evening.

Sold out tickets. Once-in-a-lifetime experience for everyone who for the first time got access to the active chalk pit and production at Mjels Kalkværk in the northern part of Jutland close to Aalborg.

Performing Landscapes Aalborg was part of a national project covering 10 different cities in Denmark produced by Metropolis – Copenhagen’s International Theater.
